"Let Me Stay" by Ciara
Where am I going?
They won't tell me
Mommy said
I'm going away for a while
I don't think I did anything bad
I always do everything they tell me to do
I don't see why they are doing this
It doesn't make sense.
I asked why?
They wouldn't tell me
They just told me to go pack my clothes and anything else I need
Mommy
please let me stay
I don't want to leave
but I do as I'm told and go pack my things
Mommy and Daddy are yelling for us
I take my one year old sister, Marissa, and
head down the stairs
We get into the car
and Daddy
he pulls out of the driveway
Mommy's mad
Daddy's sad
I'm scared
Mommy yells
Daddy sobs
The baby cries
I try to tell her not to cry and that everything will be all right
but even I don't know if that's true
Mommy looks at Daddy
and Daddy
he slowly stops the car
Mommy gets out and
opens my door
She tells me to grab my sister
and get out!
I do what I'm told as she throws our stuff onto the curb
She gets into the car
shuts the door and Daddy
he drives away
I yell for them to wait
for us
but it's too late
They
are out of sight in a matter of seconds
They
left us here
Alone
Mommy please let me stay
