Support Curtis

Fundraising The 2009-2010 Annual Book Fund continues! Our total raised to-date from individual donors is $48,000 toward our goal of $80,000.  In addition we have received two grants of $15,000 and $3,375 that will be used to purchase books for the library’s collection.

If you would like to make a gift to the Annual Book Fund to support the purchase of books, magazines, newspapers, music, audiobooks and movies, you can do it online by going to the library’s donations page or by dropping off a gift at the library.

There are many ways to support Curtis Memorial Library, all of which are important to the health and well-being of the organization. Please check out the following and feel free to ask questions of any staff member at the library. We would be happy to get you involved!

Curtis Friends provide both volunteers to help the library in many ways and financial support for programming, staff development, the library collection and many other examples.

Donating to Curtis provides financial support for the library’s many activities. Basic operating expenses are paid through municipal donations from Brunswick and Harpswell. However, everything else is paid for by private donations. Please go to the donations page to identify which method would match best with your interests.

Volunteering is a critical component of Curtis Memorial Library support. In 2008-2009 the library had 323 volunteers who contributed over 7,000 hours of work, estimated to be worth more than $106,000 in free labor. The library couldn’t run as it does without the work of these individuals. If you enjoy volunteering, please go to the Volunteer page and collect more information about how to get started.
