There are many ways to support Curtis Memorial Library, all of which are important to the health and well-being of the organization. Please check out the following and feel free to ask questions of any staff member at the library. We would be happy to get you involved!
Donating to Curtis provides financial support for the library’s many activities. Basic operating expenses are paid through municipal donations from Brunswick and Harpswell. However, everything else is paid for by private donations. Please go to the giving opportunities page page to identify which method would match best with your interests.
Curtis Friends provide both volunteers to help the library in many ways and financial support for programming, staff development, the library collection and many other examples.
Volunteering is a critical component of Curtis Memorial Library support. In 2011-2012 the library had 360 volunteers who contributed over 9,000 hours of work, estimated to be worth $174,800 in free labor. The library couldn’t run as it does without the work of these individuals. If you enjoy volunteering, please go to the Volunteer page and collect more information about how to get started.
