Beauce

  • BeauceNet. This community web site for the Beauce region, centered around St. Georges, a small city about 50 miles northwest of Jackman, includes current events, visitor information, links to business, education, and municipal affairs, and a continuing panorama of the Ville St. Georges townscape from a webcam ...in French.

Chaudière-Appalaches

  • Welcome to Chaudière-Appalaches  The tourism information website for the Chaudière-Appalaches region, which includes L'Islet and several other communities that sent migrants to Brunswick.  In English and French.

Québec City

  • Le Soleil is the French language daily newspaper covering Québec City and region; includes some local news for the communities of eastern Québec province. In French only.

  • French-English Dictionary. Allows searching French to English, or English to French, in a 75,000 word database. Gives very simple definitions. Developed by the ARTFL Project (ARTFL: American and French Research of the Treasury of the French Language) at the University of Chicago.
  • Le grand dictionnaire terminologique. The fruit of thirty years of research by linguists at l'Office québécois de la langue française, Le grand dictionnaire terminologique includes translations of nearly 3 million terms in French and English used in 200 areas of industry, science, and business.

  • Francogene.com is a a comprehensive guide to the www sites, printed resources, and archival repositories of French, French American, and French Canadian genealogy. In English and French.

  • La Nouvelle France: Ressources françaises Brief history of New France; links to organizations in France that have an interest in Québec history or relevant historical records. In French.

  • Maine Franco-American Genealogy Society located in Auburn, is a very important resource for anyone in Maine researching French ancestors.
