Parents and Teachers
Family Resource Handbook – Revised
A handy guide for families, particularly those new to the area. Information on local day care, camps, museums, sports, and more. A project of the Curtis Friends.
Class Library Visits
We encourage teachers to bring children to the library for a library orientation or research session. The visit can be designed to accommodate the needs of your group and may include stories, a library tour, a children’s area “scavenger hunt,” library skills lesson, or time for games, puzzles, and book-browsing. Teachers may pick up library card registration forms in advance of the class visit and arrange for parent signatures so students can check out books during the class visit. Reservations are required for group visits.
Theme Kits containing books, DVDs, and toys or games are available to Brunswick and Harpswell childcare providers on a variety of topics such as families, nutrition and exercise, and seasons. Check out our complete list of Theme Kit topics.
This program matches volunteers with local child care sites and provides bags of books.
