Health-related "kits" are now available for checkout by Brunswick and Harpswell childcare providers.

Each bag contains several books, a video and/or CD, and a manipulative such as a game or puppet. The bags may be reserved and checked out by childcare providers for a four-week period.

Funds for the kits were provided by a gift from the Leonard C. and Mildred F. Ferguson Foundation.

Kit topics include the following:

All Kinds of People (living with disabilities); Clean Machine (staying clean, general hygiene);

Dance, Dance, Dance!; Death and Dying;

Doctor, Doctor, I Feel Sick! (illness and doctor visits); Every Body (how it works); Fabulous Families;

Healthy Chompers (teeth, visiting the dentist); Movin' and Groovin' (exercise and rest);

Nutritious and Delicious (food and nutrition); Oh, Baby! (new baby in the family, pregnancy and childbirth)

Safe and Sound (fire safety, personal safety, etc.); Sometimes I Feel... (expressing emotion, conflict resolution)

You may also request a kit via email - pjenkins@curtislibrary.com - and we will let you know if your requested loan dates can be accommodated as soon as possible.
Kits maybe picked up and signed out at the youth services desk.
