Outreach Services

Curtis Memorial Library wants to make its resources available to all residents of Brunswick and Harpswell, and to subscription members. The Friends of the Library have accepted the task of providing materials to those unable to come to the library. With the assistance of volunteers from thePeople Plus Center and Senior Spectrum, Friends volunteers fill requests and transport materials to you and back to the library.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Any library cardholder who is unable to come to the library due to age, disability or illness, whether permanent or temporary, is eligible for Outreach Services.

RESOURCES AVAILABLE

• Books, including large print books
• Large print magazines
• Videos
• Audio Books (some require a special Talking Books player for eligible vision impaired patrons)
• Music CDs
• Books and magazine articles ordered through Interlibrary Loan (some lending libraries may charge a fee)
• Reference Services (access through phone & mail)

HOW TO REGISTER FOR SERVICES

Call and leave a message saying you are interested in this service:

725-5242 ext. 600

A volunteer will return your call and take you through the registration process. If you don’t have a library card, you may request one at the same time.

HOW TO ORDER OR RETURN MATERIALS

After you have registered, you will be assigned a Friends outreach volunteer. Contact your volunteer to request items or to have items picked up.
