Volunteer Opportunities

One of the Friends' most visible gifts to the greater Brunswick area is the Children's Resource Handbook. Now in its Sixth Edition (Jan. 2003), the handbook offers information about activities, services and facilities for children and families. Included are listings of:

  • music
  • dance and art classes
  • health services
  • fairs & festivals
  • sports & recreation
  • day camps
  • schools
  • parenting resources

First published in 1984, the handbook is periodically revised with the help of many volunteers. The most recent edition was sponsored in part by the Bath-Brunswick Area Child Abuse Council, which allowed the addition of a new section on parenting resources and guidelines.

This popular handbook is a boon to newcomers as well as a handy reference for longtime residents. It is available at no charge at the library and the on-line version is available everywhere!
