Friends Book Sale

Every June, Friends of Curtis Memorial Library sponsor a book sale to raise money for extra Library programs as well as to buy books that otherwise would not be affordable. This year about 45,000 books will be on sale.

Hours & Prices 2008

Thursday June 26, 5-7 PM -- Friends Members Only Presale, 10 book limit per membership, memberships available at the door
Friday June 27, 10:00 AM- 7:00 PM -- hardbacks $3, trade paperback (softcover) $2, paperback .50
Saturday June 28, 10:00 AM- 5:00 PM -- hardbacks $2, trade paperback (softcover) $1, paperback .50
Saturday Special: Volume discounts (10 or more hardcovers, $1 each.) Drawing for free books every half-hour.
Sunday June 29t,11:00 AM - 3:00 PM -- all books $2 for a regular paper grocerybag full

In 2007, friends from throughout the area donated about 50,000 books for the sale, which raised over $30,000 for Friends projects. Volunteers donate their time throughout the year to make it possible. They sort and pack books according to subjects, move books to a storage facility, and move them again to the sale site. Others prepare the site.

The Friends need volunteers to move boxes of books and to assist during the sale. For more information go to volunteers.
