Faces of Curtis: Kate Egan
Kate and family moved to Brunswick 10 years ago from New York. She is quick to share the story that while considering which Maine community to settle in, she walked into Curtis Memorial Library and knew instantly – Brunswick was it.
“As a new parent back then, Curtis was an amazing resource and community gathering spot, and still is for our family as we mature. There is something for everyone here.
Interlibrary loan is an amazing resource. And Curtis is such a welcoming place for all members of the community.
One of the few places left where lingering is encouraged! Being in the publishing industry, Curtis is one of the best places in town for me to find out what’s new in the field.
And as someone who works from home, Curtis is a place I can go to ‘get centered’ when I need to focus.”
Kate currently serves on the Board of Directors and the Development Committee, and notes, “When I tell people I am on the Board at Curtis, the response is always the same: there is so much pride in our library – everyone loves Curtis!”
