Curtis Contemporary Kate Egan

Here we meet Curtis Contemporaries committee member, Kate Egan.

What was your childhood library? Any favorite memories from there?

My childhood library was in South Orange, New Jersey, where I was a fierce competitor in the summer reading challenge and I first discovered the novels of Madeleine L’Engle.

What is your favorite thing to do at Curtis?

My favorite thing at Curtis right now is the hush of the 1904 building. I love that the library is a busy, vibrant place, but I also love that it offers this oasis of calm.

Would you most likely be found reading a print book, or and e-book?

I like a print book during daytime and an e-book at night. No reading light required!

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Philip Pullman’s The Book of Dust.
