Kaleidoscope Quilters

Kaleidoscope Quilters meet on the second and fourth Thursday of each month from September to June. Meetings are held in the Elks Lodge in Brunswick (Park Row behind the Gazebo). Members are from Bath, Brunswick, Topsham, and the general Midcoast area.

On each second Thursday, the business meeting (7:00 PM) is followed by a program of interest to the membership. Examples include applique techniques, fabric dyeing, perfecting your quilting stitch, color theory, or a slide show from one of the national quilt shows.

The fourth Thursday (6:30 PM) is a work meeting. Everyone works on personal projects. In July and August both meetings are work meetings -- so bring your projects and enjoy the social atmosphere.

Each year we sponsor two all-day quilt sessions in March and October. Those days, we work from 9 AM to 9 PM, share a potluck lunch and dinner and get to see what fellow members are making. It's always interesting!

Membership in Kaleidoscope Quilters is open to anyone interested in quilting. Dues are $12 per year and include membership in the Maine guild Pinetree Quilters and the Patchwork Press guild newsletter. Each Summer the Pinetree Quilters hosts a weekend quilt show with over 300 quilts on display and conducts classes with well known teachers at the Augusta Civic Center. The 2005 event will be held July 29, 30 & 31.
