A GYRFALCON was reported being chased by a COMMON RAVEN
near Brunswick High School. This bird
was not relocated.
A BALTIMORE ORIOLE was seen in Readfield.
The GRAY CATBIRD continues to be present on Ocean Avenue
in Portland.
A COMMON GRACKLE was seen in Dixmont, along with a NORTHERN
GOSHAWK.
AMERICAN ROBINS have been reported around southern and
western Maine.
York County
Last Saturday, the York County Audubon Society's field
trip found 39 species. Included in the list were KING EIDER and 2 CAROLINA
WRENS. HARLEQUIN DUCKS were present from Marginal Way to both Cliff House and
Nubble Light. SHARP-SHINNED and RED-TAILED HAWKS were in York.
A PEREGRINE FALCON, 12 HORNED LARKS, and a KING EIDER
were present in Wells Harbor.
Nineteen HORNED LARKS were at Gooserocks Beach in
Kennebunk.
At Biddeford Pool this week there were SHORT-EARED OWL, 8
DUNLIN, PURPLE SANDPIPERS, and 75 CANADA GEESE.
Upstream from the
Saco Yacht Club there were COMMON MERGANSERS, SHARP-SHINNED HAWK, and BALD
EAGLE. A BROWN CREEPER, COOPER'S HAWK, and CEDAR WAXWINGS were elsewhere in
Saco. In Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco there were and 20 CEDAR WAXWINGS.
Greater Portland and western Maine
A BARRED OWL was at Piper Shores in Scarborough. Two
RED-TAILED HAWKS were near Anjon's Restaurant along Route 1 in Scarborough.
Five EASTERN BLUEBIRDS were near Grondin Pond in Scarborough.
Twenty three BRANT and 1 male HARLEQUIN were seen at Two
Lights. Three HORNED LARKS and 15 BRANT were at Kettle Cove in Cape Elizabeth.
A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was flying over Purpoodock Golf Course in Cape Elizabeth.
Near Broad Cove in Cape Elizabeth there were RED-TAILED HAWK, NORTHERN GOSHAWK,
and ICELAND GULL.
An ICELAND GULL was at Willard Beach in South Portland.
Two COOPER'S and 2 RED-TAILED HAWKS were at Back Cove in
Portland.
A BALD EAGLE continues to be seen over Maine Audubon's
Gilsland Farm in Falmouth.
A COOPER'S HAWK was chasing Rock Doves on the Gorham
campus of the University of Southern Maine.
At the Portland Fish Pier there was a GLAUCOUS and an
ICELAND GULL.
A NORTHERN SHRIKE was at Maine Audubon's Mast Landing
Sanctuary in Freeport. Six pair of BARROW'S GOLDENEYES were in South Freeport
Harbor.
Two EVENING GROSBEAKS were in Bridgeton.
In Raymond there was a BALD EAGLE.
A NORTHERN GOSHAWK was in Wilton.
Central Maine
A NORTHERN FLICKER was seen in Auburn.
A COOPER'S HAWK was in Turner.
Six BALD EAGLES were near the ice fishing shacks on
Plymouth Pond.
A NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL was seen in Carmel.
Twelve CEDAR WAXWINGS were found in Etna.
A BARRED OWL visited a Holden feeder.
A PEREGRINE FALCON took a Mourning Dove at a Hampden
feeder.
A SHORT-EARED OWL was seen in Bangor.
BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were seen about a mile north of Patten.
A TUFTED TITMOUSE was near Old Town.
Northern Maine
In Fort Kent this week there were 2 PINE GROSBEAKS and 50
AMERICAN GOLDFINCHES.
Midcoast
Four BALD EAGLES were feeding on a CANADA GOOSE on the
Kennebec River in Georgetown.
Six EASTERN BLUEBIRDS were seen in Damariscotta.
On Monhegan there were CEDAR WAXWINGS, a SNOWY OWL, 1
WINTER WREN, 1 NORTHERN GOSHAWK, and a BALD EAGLE.
Eastern Maine
Sixty EVENING GROSBEAKS and 1 NORTHERN SHRIKE were seen
at feeders.
