A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen flying over Scarborough Marsh at the Pelreco building.
A LARK SPARROW was seen in Old Orchard near the pumping station by Walnut Street and Milliken Road.
York County
A CAROLINA WREN was in York.
At the Sanford sewage ponds there were RUDDY DUCKS, GREEN and BLUE-WINGED TEALS, MALLARDS, BLACK DUCK, COMMON PINTAIL, RING-NECKED DUCKS, TURKEY VULTURES, NORTHEREN HARRIER, SHARP-SHINNED HAWK, RED-TAILED and COOPER'S HAWKS, 3 DUNLIN, flocks of BLUEBIRDS, AMERICAN PIPITS, PALM and YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, and LAPLAND LONGSPUR .
The list from Biddeford Pool included DUNLIN, BLACK-BELLIED and AMERICAN-GOLDEN PLOVER, RUDDY TURNSTONES, GREATER YELLLOWLEGS, LAUGHING GULL, RED-THROATED LOON, LONG-TAILED DUCK, RUBY and GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS, PALM WARBLER, WHITE-THROATED, WHITE-CROWNED, LINCOLN'S, SWAMP and SONG SPARROWS and AMERICAN PIPITS.
Scarborough Marsh Area
A DICKCISSEL was at the feeders by the Portland News Company in the Scarborough Industrial Park. Two LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS were behind the Pelreco building at Pine Point. Five AMERICAN PIPITS were along Eastern Road in Scarborough. At Pine Point there were 5 FORSTER'S TERNS, 100 BONAPARTE'S GULLS, 8 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, DUNLIN, and GREAT BLUE HERON. On the beach at Pine Point there were a flock of SANDERLINGS and DUNLIN and diving off the beach were 30 NORTHERN GANNETS. Twenty GREATER YELLOWLEGS were at Dunstan Landing. Thirty-three DUNLIN were on the marsh near Route 1 in Scarborough. At Higgins Beach there were 120 SANDERLINGS and 3 DUNLIN. On Prout's Pond off Pleasant Hill Road there were RUDDY DUCKS and CANADA GEESE.
Greater Portland and western Maine
Along the Fowler Road in Cape Elizabeth there were 100 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS. Elsewhere in Cape Elizabeth there were WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS and 18 RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS.
A CAROLINA WREN was in Westbrook.
Twenty EASTERN BLUEBIRDS were sighted in Harpswell.
Five DARK-EYED JUNCOS, 3 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS, and a DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT were seen in Bridgton.
In Fryeburg along the old course of the Saco River there were 1 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW, 3 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS, and 14 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS.
Over in Wilton the list included 10 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS, 1 LAPLAND LONGSPUR, 20 CEDAR WAXWINGS, YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, 1 HOODED MERGANSER, 3 COMMON LOONS, CHIPPING, SONG, WHITE-THROATED and WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS.
Central Maine
In Turner the list included 50 AMERICAN PIPITS, 1 LAPLAND LONGSPUR, 1 EASTERN MEADOWLARK, 8 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS, 1 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, and a MERLIN.
In Belgrade there were 6 DARK-EYED JUNCOS, 6 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS, 1 HERMIT THRUSH, and a PILEATED WOODPECKER.
In Augusta there were 3 WHITE-CROWNED and 24 SONG SPARROWS.
Four COMMON REDPOLLS were found in Waterville.
A PEREGRINE FALCON was on a large antenna on top of the courthouse in Bangor, apparently surveying the numerous pigeons in the city below.
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS visited the feeders at the Fields Pond Nature Center in Holden.
Northern Maine
DARK-EYED JUNCOS and WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS were in Fort Kent.
Midcoast
A western race of the PALM WARBLER was located in Pemaquid.
In Phippsburg this past week there were 2 BALD EAGLES, 14 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, and 3 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS. Twenty NORTHERN GANNETS were at Popham Beach.
In Georgetown there were 3 HERMIT THRUSHES, WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS, and DARK-EYED JUNCOS.
Eastern Maine
NORTHERN GANNETS were seen doing "dynamic soaring" off the end of Great Head, Mt. Desert Island. A first-year RED-THROATED LOON swam and dove off Marlboro Beach.
In Lubec this week there were 25 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS.
At Quoddy Head there were 50 BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES, 100 NORTHERN GANNETS, and some BLACK GUILLEMOTS.
