A HOARY REDPOLL was seen amongst COMMON REDPOLLS in Oakland.
York County
A SNOWY OWL was found dead at the Nubble Light in York. A BALD EAGLE was near the Cape Neddick River.
At the Cliff House in Ogunquit there was a COOPERS HAWK, BLACK GUILLEMOT, and HARLEQUIN DUCKS.
A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was along route 4, 2 miles east of South Berwick. PINE GROSBEAKS were singing over the weekend in South Berwick.
At Goose Rocks in Kennebunk this week there were 40 BONAPARTE'S GULLS and 12 HORNED LARKS.
Off shore at Biddeford Pool there were numerous BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES.
At the Saco Yacht Club there is a PIED-BILLED GREBE and HOODED and COMMON MERGANSERS. On Water Street in Saco there was a WOOD DUCK. A GREAT BLUE HERON was on the marsh at Goosefare Brook.
Greater Portland and western Maine
Several BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES and 2 BONAPARTE'S GULLS were over the river near the co-op at Pine Point. Fifty DUNLINS were at Pine Point at low tide. A GREAT BLUE HERON, 1 NORTHERN PINTAIL and 6 HOODED MERGANSERS were on the River near the Scarborough Marsh Nature Center. At the Scarborough Industrial Park there were 2 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS, 1 BOBWHITE and 8 COWBIRDS.
Thirty PINE GROSBEAKS were opposite Circuit City in South Portland, near the mall.
GREAT CORMORANTS were at Two Lights along with 2 SNOW BUNTINGS. HORNED LARKS and a SNOW BUNTING were seen at the strawberry fields near Two Lights. Also at Two Lights on Saturday were 25 RAZORBILLS, 1 NORTHERN GANNETT, 1 BLACK GUILLIMOT, 40 PURPLE SANDPIPERS, and 30 BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES. At Broad Cove in Cape Elizabeth there were NORTHERN GANNETS and a SHARP-SHINNED-HAWK.
A SNOWY OWL and an ICELAND GULL were seen at East End Beach in Portland. PINE GROSBEAKS, ROBINS, and CEDAR WAXWINGS were seen in the Willowdale section of Portland. Three ICELAND GULLS were at the sewage treatment plant.
A RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER was on Cousin's Island.
Thirty to forty ROBINS were seen in North Yarmouth.
A COOPER'S HAWK, 3 RAVENS, and 15 TURKEYS were in Pownal.
The list from Wilton included 12 PINE GROSBEAKS, 100 COMMON REDPOLLS, and a NORTHERN SHRIKE.
Midcoast
An ICELAND GULL and 6 COMMON MERGANSERS were in Bath.
A BLACK-HEADED GULL was in Rockland Harbor by the fish pier.
Twelve BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES, 3 NORTHERN GANNETS, BLACK GUILLEMOTS, PURPLE SANDPIPERS, 1 FOX SPARROW, 1 HERMIT THRUSH, 1 BARRED OWL, and SNOW BUNTINGS were seen in Pemaquid.
Eastern Maine
In Dennysville this week there were 75 COMMON REDPOLLS and 12 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS.
At Quoddy there were 200 BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES.
On Wilson's Beach at Campobello there was a THAYER'S GULL.
Central Maine
An ICELAND GULL was seen in Auburn. The list from Turner included 20 COMMON REDPOLLS, 1 HORNED LARK, and 8 TURKEYS.
In Augusta there were 100 COMMON REDPOLLS and six COMMON REDPOLLS were in Belgrade. Two ICELAND GULLS were at the landfill in Augusta.
Twelve PINE GROSBEAKS, 40 CEDAR WAXWINGS and a PURPLE FINCH were found in Waterville.
On the Kennebec River in Fairfield there were BARROW'S GOLDENEYE, AMERICAN WIGEON, NORTHERN PINTAIL, 12 PINE GROSBEAKS, and a COOPER'S HAWK.
Five HORNED LARKS were in Clinton.
Fifty BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were located in Rome.
A CAROLINA WREN was seen in Skowhegan.
A NORTHERN GOSHAWK, 25 COMMON REDPOLLS and 8 TREE SPARROWS were in Dixmont.
An ICELAND GULL was at the landfill in Hamden.
Twenty BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS and 12 PINE GROSBEAKS ate crabapples in an Orono yard. A pair of CAROLINA WRENS came to an Orono feeder on Jan. 28.
Northern Maine
Good birds in Houlton this week there were 20 PINE GROSBEAKS, 40 COMMON REDPOLLS, 10 TREE SPARROWS, EVENING GROSBEAKS, and a NORTHERN GOSHAWK.
A BARRED OWL was seen in Fort Kent.
