York County
        In York this week there was a RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER,
        At the Cliff House in Ogunquit there were 15 HARLEQUIN DUCKS and
BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES.
Six WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS and a RING NECKED PHEASANT were at a feeder in
Kennebunk Beach.  On the Beach at Fortunes Rocks there were 53 DUNLIN and
BONAPARTE'S GULL.
 A BLACK-HEADED GULL and BLACK GUILLEMOTS were off Eastern Point at
Biddeford Pool.
        A small flock of COMMON REDPOLLS were on the Boom Road in Saco.
Greater  Portland and western Maine
        At the Scarborough industrial park there was a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT,
a BOBWHITE, a COMMON GRACKLE, 1 SHARP -SHINNED HAWK, 1 RUSTY BLACKBIRD, and
1 COOPER'S HAWK at the feeders of the Portland Newspaper.  Two EASTERN
BLUEBIRDS and 2 RED-TAILED HAWKS were on the Hearn Road in Scarborough.
Four COMMON REDPOLLS  were at Pine Point in Scarborough.
        At Broad Cove in Cape Elizabeth there were RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS,
COMMON GOLDENEYES, and BUFFLEHEAD.
A SNOWY and a SHORT EARED OWL were at Back Cove in Portland along with a 1st
winter BLACK HEADED GULL.  Two ICELAND GULLS were at the Eastern Prom.
An AMERICAN WOODCOCK and 6 COMMON REDPOLLS were found in Cumberland.
        Fifty four WILD TURKEYS were in Pownal.
        In Wilton this week there were 70 COMMON REDPOLLS, 1 WHITE-WINGED
CROSSBILL, TREE SPARROWS, and a SHARP -SHINNED HAWK.
Central Maine
        The list from Turner included 65 HORNED LARKS and a LAPLAND
LONGSPUR.
  In Richmond this week there was a GREAT BLUE HERON and a GRAY MORPH
GYRFALCON.
 The Farmington CBC counted 41 species.  Notables included 95 PINE
GROSBEAKS, 2 NORTHERN SHRIKES, and HOODED MERGANSER.
        A WOOD DUCK was on Messalonski Lake in Belgrade.  Elsewhere in
Belgrade there were 15 EVENING GROSBEAKS and 20 COMMON REDPOLLS.
        At Fort Halifax in Winslow this week there were 5 BARROW'S
GOLDENEYES and 10 HOODED MERGANSERS.
        The Unity CBC found 3 HERMIT THRUSHES.
         The Dixfield CBC found 39 species.  Good birds included 3 BALD
EAGLES, 40 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS, 7 HOODED and 1 COMMON MERGANSER, BELTED
KINGFISHER, 21 COMMON RAVENS, and 34 PINE GROSBEAKS.
        Two CAROLINA WRENS were found in Veazie.
        In Bangor there was a BALTIMORE ORIOLE and 12 PINE GROSBEAKS.
        The Orono - Old Town CBC tallied 57 species.  Good birds included
SNOW GOOSE and LESSER SCAUP.
Northern Maine
        The list from Houlton this week included BALD EAGLE, 30+ PINE
GROSBEAKS, a pair of NORTHERN CARDINALS, 6 COMMON REDPOLLS, and SNOW
BUNTINGS.
        BOREAL CHICKADEES and COMMON REDPOLLS were found in
Fort Kent
I had computer problems over the holiday break and this did not get posted
last week.  Since I know some people archive the alerts I am sending it out
