The SAGE THRASHER was seen again at the Nubble Light in York on the 6th. A
DICKCISSEL was on the road leading to Witter Farm from College Avenue in Old
Town. A CAROLINA WREN was seen by two experienced observers simultaneously
on ground under backyard feeders in Caribou.

York County

At Biddeford Pool SNOWY OWLS were along Mile Road and on Wood Island. A
light morph JEAGER sp. was seen chasing a Ring-Billed Gull off Wood Island.
At Eastern Point in Biddeford there were 2 HARLEQUIN DUCKS , 2 BLACK
GUILLEMOTS, 1 SANDERLING, and 15 COMMON REDPOLLS. Behind Hatties Restaurant
there was 1 HORNED LARK and an AMERICAN KESTREL. At Hills Beach there were 2
RING-NECKED DUCKS and 12 COMMON REDPOLLS.

Greater Portland and western Maine

A GREAT HORNED OWL was roosting on top of large tree near the golf course
along the dunes at Ferry Beach in Prout's Neck in Scarborough. Seventeen
WILD TURKEYS were along the Ash Swamp Road in Scarborough. On Prout's Pond
off Pleasant Hill Road there were 20 RUDDY DUCKS, a SNOW GOOSE, 1
PIED-BILLED GREBE, 10 COOT, and 3 HOODED MERGANSERS.

A RED-THROATED LOON was seen in Broad Cove in Cape Elizabeth.

A NORTHERN GOSHAWK was near the Marion Jordan Road along Route 77 in Cape
Elizabeth.

A SNOWY OWL was seen at the Bug Light in South Portland.

There were 2 SNOWY OWLS on the jetty, at the Eastern Promenade in Portland.
At East End Beach in Portland there were 6 COMMON REDPOLLS, 1 PALM WARBLER,
and a HARLEQUIN DUCK. A COOPER'S HAWK was at Back Cove and a HERMIT THRUSH
was at the sewage plant.

A COOPER'S HAWK was in Yarmouth.

Two PINE GROSBEAKS were seen in Cumberland.

Fifteen WILD TURKEYS were seen in Pownal and 57 TURKEYS were in North
Pownal.

Fifty COMMON REDPOLLS were seen in Harpswell.

In Bridgton, on Highland Lake there were 50 COMMON MERGANSERS and a BALD
EAGLE.

Over in Wilton there were COMMON REDPOLLS and WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS.

Central Maine

The list from Turner this week included 70 COMMON REDPOLLS, 85 HORNED LARKS,
1 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, and a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK.

In Topsham along the Androscoggin there was a BELTED KINGFISHER, 2 GREAT
BLUE HERONS, 2 BALD EAGLES, and a RED-TAILED HAWK. Elsewhere in Topsham
there was a CAROLINA WREN.

A RED-TAILED HAWK was seen in Brunswick.

In Richmond this week there were 2 COMMON REDPOLLS, 1 RED-BELLIED
WOODPECKER, 1 NORTHERN GOSHAWK, and 1 NORTHERN HARRIER.

A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen in Vassalboro.

In Dixmont this week there were 6 EVENING GROSBEAKS, 5 PURPLE FINCHES, 5
PINE GROSBEAKS, and a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK.

A BARRED OWL was in Plymouth.

In Brewer there were 30 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS.

Ninety CANADA GEESE were on the Penobscot River just upstream from the
Veterans Remembrance Bridge in Bangor.

On Mud Pond, just east of Pushaw Lake in Old Town there was a raft of over
300 COMMON MERGANSERS.

A BOREAL CHICKADEE came to an Orono bird feeder in a yard bordering on the
Orono Bog.

Midcoast

A SNOWY OWL, 50 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, 2 CAROLINA WRENS, 1 GREAT BLUE HERON,
and WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were found in Georgetown.

In Belfast this week there were EASTERN TOWHEE, CAROLINA WREN and FOX
SPARROW.

Eastern Maine

Between Cherryfield and Columbia Falls there were many COMMON REDPOLLS.

In Centerville there was a single YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER and a NORTHERN
CARDINAL.

At Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge this week there were GREATER SCAUP,
HOODED MERGANSERS, and BALD EAGLES.

A SONG SPARROW was in Dennysville.

There were an estimated 40,000 BONAPARTE'S GULLS and BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES
in Eastport along with 6 BALD EAGLES, and 180 GREAT CORMORANTS.

In East Quoddy there were 500 LONG-TAILED DUCKS, 50 BLACK GUILLEMOTS, and
15,000 BONAPARTE'S GULLS.

Near Lubec and Campobello there were 3 BLACK-HEADED GULLS, 40,000
BONAPARTE'S GULLS, 25,000 BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES, an estimated 20,000 other
smallish gulls, 32 ICELAND GULLS, 2 GLAUCOUS GULLS, and 1 THAYER'S GULL.
On shore in Indian Township there were 10 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS, 6 PINE
GROSBEAKS, 1 GRAY JAY, and 1 COMMON REPOLL.
