The NORTHERN HAWK OWL is still present in Sidney between the corner of Goodhue and Tiffany Road.
York County
At Kittery Point there was a female eastern towee on Gerrish Island.
A FOX SPARROW, 1 PURPLE FINCH and a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK were seen in York. At the Cliff House in York were 4 RAZORBILLS (2 very close), 2 BLACK GUILLEMOTS, and HARLEQUIN DUCKS.
A pair of HOODED MERGANSERS were on Drake's Island and a SNOW BUNTING was in Wells. One hundred SANDERLINGS were observed along Moody Beach in Wells.
At Biddeford Pool this week there were 5 BLACK GUILLEMOTS, 8 RAZORBILL, 1 THICK-BILLED MURRE, 2 NORTHERN GANNETS, 1 BRANT, 8 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, 1 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, SNOW BUNTINGS and 8 HORNED LARKS. At the Saco River Salmon Hatchery in Biddeford there were a pair of BARROW'S GOLDENEYE. At East Point there were 100+ PURPLE SANDPIPERS, BLACK GUILLEMOT, and 35 BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES.
A NORTHERN SHRIKE and a COOPER'S HAWK were at the Saco Yacht Club.
Eight SNOW BUNTINGS were on the Gordon Road in Dayton.
Greater Portland and western Maine
A NORTHERN GOSHAWK and a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK were on Broad Turn Road in Scarborough. Four HOODED and 2 COMMON MERGANSERS along with 2 NORTHERN PINTAIL were at Scarborough marsh. A SHARP-SHINNED HAWK and a NORTHERN SHRIKE were in the Scarborough industrial park. Along Eastern Road there was a RED-WINGED BLACK BIRD and a RING NECK PHEASANT. At Pine Point there were BARROW'S GOLDENEYE.
A NORTHERN SHRIKE and two EASTERN BLUEBIRDS were at Ram Island Farm in Cape Elizabeth. At Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth there were the following: 5 Great Cormorants, 2 Black Guillimots, 1 immature male HARLEQUIN DUCK, nearby were 10 BRANT, and 20 PURPLE SANDPIPERS.
There were12 ICELAND GULLS and a possible THAYER'S GULL on Eastern Promenade in Portland. Below the Treatment Plant in Portland was a first year Glaucous Gull. A MERLIN was in the West End of Portland near Danforth and State Streets. There was a pair of Carolina Wrens at a feeder on February 13th in Portland off outer Forest Avenue.
Six COMMON MERGANSERS were on the Royal River near Rt. 88 in Yarmouth.
Two BARROW'S GOLDENEYES were in South Freeport.
A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was near LL Bean in Freeport.
Fifty BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were found over near Sugarloaf ski area.
Midcoast
This week a NORTHERN PINTAIL was found near Parkview Hospital in Brunswick.
In Georgetown there was a NORTHERN SHRIKE and 6 PINE SISKINS.
A BALD EAGLE, 1 BELTED KINGFISHER and 1 RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD were reported from Phippsburg. A Popham Beach this week a birder found 15 HORNED LARKS.
Twelve EASTERN BLUEBIRDS, 5 BALD Eagles, and 50 Common Mergansers were in Bath. Just north of Bath along Route One there were two male and four female HOODED MERGANSERS.
An AMERICAN WIGEON was seen in Damariscotta.
There was a male and female NORTHERN PINTAIL along Route 32 in New Harbor.
Ten to 30 EVENING GROSBEAKS were observed in Waldoboro.
This week on Monhegan Island, the following were found: WINTER WREN, SNOW BUNTING, WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL, SONG SPARROW, ROBINS, CEDAR WAXWINGS and a BALD EAGLE.
Eastern Maine
A few WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were around Acadia National Park.
A BALD EAGLE was in Calais.
In Dennysville there were 20 EVENING GROSBEAKS and a few PURPLE FINCHES.
Four BOREAL CHICKADEES were seen in Topsfield.
Central Maine
HORNED LARKS and ROBINS were in Turner.
Fifteen BOHEMIAN and 115 CEDAR WAXWINGS were seen in Augusta.
Two PINE SISKINS were in Belgrade.
Two BOHEMIAN and 100 CEDAR WAXWINGS were seen in Waterville.
A pair of BARROW'S GOLDENEYES were seen in Winslow.
Eighty HORNED LARKS, 20 SNOW BUNTINGS and 8 LAPLAND LONGSPURS were seen in Clinton.
Twelve WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS and 6 SNOW BUNTINGS were seen in Dixmont.
A NORTHERN SHRIKE was in Newport.
A NORTHERN GOSHAWK was in Etna.
A NORTHERN SHRIKE was in Hermon.
On the ice of the Penobscot River in Bangor there were 1 first-winter Iceland gull and 1 first-winter glaucous gull
At the Stinson factory in Prospect Harbor on Friday 2/16 there were at least 8 each of Iceland and glaucous gulls.
There were 8 Snow Buntings seen in the fields at Maine Inland Fisheries offices in Bangor
On Feb. 18, 20 Bohemian Waxwings were eating fruit in Milford.
On Feb. 18 there were about 50 White Winged Crossbills in small flocks (3-6 per flock) eating grit on Route 6 from Kossuth to Lambert Lake. About 150 Pine Siskins were doing the same thing.
On Feb. 18, a Red-bellied Woodpecker visited an Orono feeder.
Northern Maine
In Fort Kent this week there were 6 PINE GROSBEAKS, 8 COMMON REDPOLLS, 7 RUFFED GROUSE and AMERICAN ROBINS.
