A NORTHERN HAWK OWL was located along the Goodhue Road in Sidney.  From exit
32 off the interstate 95 go east on the Lyons Road.   Turn left on Route
104.  Go approximately 2 miles and turn onto the Drummond Road.  The
Drummond Road turns into the Goodhue Road after about 2 miles.  Go 1 mile on
the Goodhue Road.  The bird has been seen on the left hand side of the road
down to the Tiffany Road.  This bird has been present for about 10 days, but
we just learned of it today.   Another NORTHERN HAWK OWL was seen in Orono
on Jan. 28.  Birders were not able to relocate the bird on Jan. 29. A
BALTIMORE ORIOLE was at a feeder in Sanford. A LESSER BLACK BACKED GULL was
seen at the Yacht Club in Saco on the 28th. A CHIPPING SPARROW was reported
at a feeder in Machias.
York County
HARLEQUIN DUCKS were along Marginal Way in Ogunquit.
Eighteen SNOW BUNTINGS were at Gooserocks beach in Kennebunk.  A
GREEN-WINGED TEAL was on the Mousam River in Kennebunk and a BARROW'S
GOLDENEYE was near Strawberry Island in Kennebunk.  At the Blueberry Plains
of Kennebunk there was a BELTED KINGFISHER near a small stream that runs all
winter.  In the stream are brook trout and fingerlings.   Also near this
locality there was a NORTHERN GOSHAWK.
 The DICKCISSEL continues to be seen along Hills Beach Road in Biddeford.  A
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was at Biddeford Pool along with BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES
off shore.  ROBINS were seen in Biddeford and Saco.  Up to six COMMON
MERGANSERS were on the Saco River in Saco.
 Forty SNOW BUNTINGS were seen on the Gordon Road in Dayton.  Twenty WILD
TURKEYS were along the River Road in Dayton.
Greater Portland and western Maine
CEDAR WAXWINGS were in Willowdale in Scarborough.  HOODED MERGANSERS were at
Scarborough marsh.
 An EASTERN BLUEBIRD was seen along Ram Island Farm Road in Cape Elizabeth.
During Maine Audubon's Wings of Winter Trip the following were see at Two
Lights in Cape Elizabeth: 2 RAZORBILLS, 3 BLACK GUILLEMOTS, 1 HORNED LARK,
and 1 RED-THROATED LOON.
 Also on the field trip an ICELAND GULL and SURF SCOTERS were seen at
Willard Beach in South Portland.
 An ICELAND GULL was also seen at East End Beach in Portland.  An unusual
small GULL has been seen off the ledges near East End Beach.  Although many
trained eyes have looked at this bird, its' identity remains a mystery.  At
different time three GLAUCOUS and 3 ICELAND GULLS were seen between the
sewage treatment plant and East End Beach. The CANVASBACK continues to be
seen all along Back Cove in Portland and in the cove by the Baked Bean
plant.  A COOPER'S HAWK was back by the ducks in Evergreen Cemetery in
Portland.
A pair of RING-NECKED DUCKS were discovered in a cove off Jordan Bay, Sebago
Lake, in Raymond where routes 85 and 302 meet.  PINE SISKINS and EASTERN
BLUEBIRDS were along Highland Road in Bridgton.
 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS were seen in Falmouth.
 More EASTERN BLUEBIRDS were seen near the Cumberland/Yarmouth line.
 BROWN-HEADED COWBIRDS were at a feeder in Freeport.  Six BARROW'S
GOLDENEYES were at the South Freeport Harbor.
Central Maine
The list from Turner this week included:  2 BALD EAGLES, 9 HORNED LARKS, 14
WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS and 20 ROBINS.
Three ICELAND and a THAYER'S GULL were seen at the Augusta transfer station.
A male YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was seen in Winslow along the Morrill Road near
the China town line.
Three BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were in a flock of approximately 320 CEDAR WAXWINGS
on the Colby College campus in Waterville.
Six WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were seen in the University Forest in Old Town

Midcoast
A BELTED KINGFISHER was seen in Phippsburg.  Elsewhere in Phippsburg there
were approximately 5 RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS.
 A NORTHERN SHRIKE was along Indian Point Road in Georgetown.
This past week in the Appleton, Hope and Camden areas there were SNOW
BUNTINGS.
PINE SISKINS were seen in Liberty.
A NORTHERN PINTAIL was seen again in Chamberlain.
Bird sightings in Lincolnville included 15 AMERICAN ROBINS.
On John's Bay in Pemaquid there were 1 SHORT-EARED OWL, 1 NORTHERN FLICKER,
12 RAZORBILLS and a THICK-BILLED MURRE.  BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES were seen
at Pemaquid Point.
Northern Maine
EVENING GROSBEAKS, PURPLE FINCHES, TREE SPARROWS, DARK-EYED JUNCOS, 1
NORTHERN GOSHAWK and large flocks of SNOW BUNTINGS were seen in Houlton.
ROBINS and a RED-TAILED HAWK were seen in Presque Isle along with SNOW
BUNTINGS and EVENING GROSBEAKS.
NORTHERN SHRIKES were seen in Woodland, Ashland, Winterville and Presque
Isle.
 PURPLE FINCHES and SNOW BUNTINGS were found in Fort Kent.
 Eastern Maine
At Roque Bluff this week there were BARROW'S GOLDENEYE, LESSER BLACK-BACKED
GULL, WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS and a NORTHERN SHRIKE.
