Substitute Library Assistant, Adult Services

We’re looking for a friendly, tech-savvy individual to provide great service to patrons of all ages.  Primary responsibilities include basic reference and readers’ advisory, helping customers find and use library resources, and maintaining collections and displays.

Candidate must have proficiency with automated library systems and with online search tools and strategies; enthusiasm for technology and a comfort level with various applications and software including MS Office; a passion for reading and talking about books; and a Bachelor’s degree or comparable education and/or experience.  This is a per diem position.  Pay rate is $13.70/hr.

Substitute Librarian, Adult and/or Youth Services

Curtis Memorial Library has an opportunity for a customer-focused professional to provide library services in Adult and/or Youth Services areas on a per diem basis.  The successful candidate will have proficiency with digital literacy, extensive knowledge of current literature and information sources relevant to adult and/or youth patrons, and skill in providing in-depth readers’ advisory and information assistance.  Librarian will ensure a safe and positive environment for patrons and may serve as Person in Charge within the library.

Position requires availability for some evening and weekend hours.  MLS degree, or degree pending in 2014, required; public library experience strongly preferred.  Pay rate is $20.36/hr.
