what is google earth?

Google Earth is a free, powerful, friendly, and fun mapping program that enables any adventurous user to explore satellite photos of the Earth, the Moon, Mars, and even the Stars beyond from the comfort of home, library or People Plus.

In an introductory presentation on November 4th from 10:00 -11:30 AM at the Curtis Library, Instructor Craig Snapp will demonstrate some of the powerful capabilities of Google Earth including worldwide searching, Street View, 3D Buildings, Earth Gallery, historical satellite imagery, touring of scenic and important world sites, access to public map databases and the ability to create custom maps that can be shared with friends and family.

The introductory lecture will be followed with hands on instruction workshops in the People Plus center for the following two Tuesdays after the presentation.

People Plus can accommodate 12 attendees without computers and the class can host an additional 3 attendees with laptops. There will be a 15 person maximum placed on these workshops.
